The arena

Selling at this level is close work. It cannot be done at a distance, and it cannot be done by proxy. Someone has to sit in the room and carry the question the customer has not answered yet, then come back with something worth their time.

That someone is you. In 1910, Theodore Roosevelt stood at the Sorbonne and described you.

A hundred and sixteen years later the arena is a conference room, a video call, a buying committee that will decide without you present. The dust and the sweat are real anyway. So is the striving. So is the coming short again and again, which is the line nobody puts on a poster and every seller knows by heart.
